Troop 56 Scholarship
The Committee of Troop 56, BSA in Wilmington, MA has established a scholarship to help a scout continue his education beyond high school. Each candidate must meet the requirements listed below.
- The applicant does not need to be an Eagle Scout, however achieving this coveted rank will enhance your chances of being awarded a scholarship.
- The applicant must be a graduating high school senior and be entering a college, university, trade school, apprenticeship, or other continuing education program approved by the Scholarship Committee.
- Provide a copy of the scout’s High School transcript with this application. There is no minimum grade point average or other academic standings mandated by this scholarship.
- Allow the publication of the scout’s name, picture, and award in appropriate news media and troop materials.
- Have demonstrated leadership within the Troop, as well as in the Community.
- Participation in activities outside Troop 56. (Student Government, Athletics, Student Clubs and Organizations, et cetera).
- A letter of recommendation from a non-family member. This letter can be from a teacher, advisor, coach, mentor, et cetera.
- Two scholarships will be awarded, $100/each in a check payable to the recipient and is to be used for educational expenses.
- All materials must be turned into the Scholarship Committee by the last Tuesday of May.
