Greg Monteforte was the Scoutmaster from 2002-2011. He was, and continues to be, a big proponent of Scout Spirit; where the scouts live by the Oath and Law everyday.

The campership is awarded annually to a scout in the Troop. The scout must meet several criteria, including having strong scout spirit, participation in troop activities, community service, and outstanding effort.

The funds for the award are raised by adult leaders who sell wreaths during the holiday season. Troop 56 is proud to recognize the following recipients of the Greg Monteforte Spirit of Scouting Award by awarding them with a free week of Summer Camp.
